Chicken Coop With Automatic Feed System Stardew Valley
Do you have the deluxe barn/coop and hay in a silo? It should fill the food "shelf thing" every morning unless something went horribly wrong.

ive got deluxe, but theyre not full yet. so that might me a reason why it doesnt refill. but its still weird. gonna work on filling the barns up and then ill hope it will do its work
it filled up for me even when I had less than 12 animals, I'd check and see if you have hay in your silo
It refills when there is no enough hay for your animals for the next day, if lets say you have 2 chickens and there is 14 spaces of hay the auto feeder will not refill it until all the hay has been eaten. Give it some time and check the next day if it still empty (also check the hay remaining in your silo)

thats the point. i fill up my silo's every week. so theyre almost always full.
and as @valyrio100 said. i have 10 animals so not all the food is eaten, i still think that is the reason. but ill find out soon enough. gonna buy more animals as my starfruit farm is making me big bank
I have 12 animals at the coop/barn, all the hay is eaten but the auto feeder not refill that. Something wrong. Not matter the weather, rain, snow, sun... the hay is not refilled +(
The auto-feeder works on my side, I have 6 animals in barn and 6 in the coop.
My theory is that it is filled then eaten, since every day I see empty hay slots and the animals are happy.
Try to get in your coop/barn first thing in the morning.

i have the base coop and i filled the troughs with hay once and i've never had to fill them since. The silo is always 100% full and the chickens are never hungry. i can't even take hay out of the feeders anymore... maybe b/c chickens don't eat hay? xDDD

do you let them out everyday?
they dont eat from the trough on days they are let outside.
If its not refilling maybe your animals ate the hay before you checked?

i think it was actually sort of a bug at the beginning.
the autofeeder didnt refill if i didnt go in the coop every day.
so if i skipped one day it wouldnt be filled the day after.
ive recently played the game again for a bit and this doesnt happen anymore.
it also used to be so that if you let the animals outside they wouldnt eat from the feeder.
but that also doesnt happen like that anymore.
